Owned by David Anderson, this family business has over 50 years of history serving Carthage. Currently, Anderson Oil offers bulk delivery of gas and fuel; farm supplies, including oil, filters, belts, bolts, and batteries; and vet supplies.
A cornerstone of Carthage for over 50 years, the Cabaret Steak House and Lounge has recently completed a renovation which added many improvements to the establishment. Once a drug store, it now features delicious dining and evening entertainment as a bar and restaurant. Weekend karaoke and other specials draw customers from all over the area. The Cabaret is owned by Rich Spurgin.
The Carthage Farmers Elevator & Ethan Co-op Lumber buys and sells grain. Also available are all types of feed, seed and lumber supplies. Until the early 1970's grain was picked up at the elevator by train. Most of the grain picked up by train was corn, wheat, rye, oats and barley. Currently the elevator uses the old train depot to store feed. It is owned by Russel Dillon.
DVA Quarterhorses is owned by Dave and Val Anderson. They have been breeding quarterhorses for over 30 years. Mare bloodlines consist of Driftwoods, Poco Bueno, Sugar Bars, Leo, Jewels Leo Bars, Colonel Freckles, King, Wimpy I, Sak Em San, Doc Bar, and Wheke.

Farmers and Merchants Sate Bank, located on Main Street in Carthage, was chartered in 1907. In 1986 this bank merged with Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Iroquois when it was purchased from the Carthage Holding Company. In 1998 the building was remodeled and expanded to make a larger lobby area, teller area, computer area, a handicapped accessible ramp and outside deposit drop. The bank offers full banking services such as: FDIC insured free checking accounts, savings accounts, IRAs, Certificates of Deposit, bank by mail, loans ranging from agricultural to personal loans to commercial, and real estate loans.
